Episode 1: In the Beginning…Eve’s Purpose & When Sin Entered

In today’s episode, we introduce you to our hosts, Ashlee Calvert and Tabitha Howard, as well as to the weekly format of our show.

In Tabitha’s topic of the week, we introduce our Foundational Series beginning with how sin entered as we look at Eve’s role in not fulfilling her calling and allowing the serpent to deceive her.

In Genesis 1, we recall the creation of the world and how God formed Adam and Eve. After creation, God saw that it was not good for man to be alone so He created Eve to be a helpmeet for Adam.

In chapter 2, we discuss how Eve allowed the serpent to deceive her as they changed the actual words of God, ultimately resulting in the first sin as Eve and Adam took the forbidden fruit.

*Please note that this lesson is for ALL women, married or single.*  While Eve’s purpose was to be a companion and a helper to Adam, she strayed away from her true purpose by allowing the serpent to influence her.

What is the purpose for us?  Ask yourselves who you are allowing to influence you spiritually.  Do they align with scripture?  The purpose is to help you recognize the message, whether it’s from your pastor, teachers or even social media influencers.

Our challenge of the week:  Evaluate who you are allowing to influence you, especially spiritually.  Do they align with God’s Word or is it time to unfollow them?

Our final thought comes from 2 Timothy 4:3-5.

Join us next week as we continue our Foundational Series on Salvation.
