Episode 41: Focus More in 2024 - Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everybody!  We are excited to begin a new year with you all and look forward to what 2024 has in store.

Today we are going to begin a new series around our theme for this new year which is Focus More in 2024.

Over the next few weeks we are going to be diving deep into 1 Corinthians and studying everything from unity in the church to women's roles within the church and everything in between.  Our goal is to grow spiritually more than we ever have in this coming year.

We begin today studying 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verses 1-9.  In these verses Paul is writing a letter to the church in Corinth to tell them to grow up, come together and to unify around the word of God.

It’s so important for us as Christians to examine ourselves and how we can grow in Christ but also to examine our conduct within the church.  Are we honoring God in every aspect of our lives, not just in word?  Are we allowing petty things to come between us and our brothers and sisters in Christ?  These are all things we want to consider as we begin this new study.

We look at other churches in the book of Revelation that are struggling with a lot of the same things our churches are struggling with today.

Listen now to see why it’s important for you to not only receive salvation but to also continue to grow in your faith.

What’s the Purpose?

As we go back to our theme this year, “Focus More in 2024,”  I hope that we can all have the mindset that we want to heed the warning of God’s Word.  From the church at Corinth to the churches we mentioned in Revelation, God has given us more grace than we could ever deserve and because of His love for us, we should have the earnest desire to live for Him while we are on this earth.  Let’s recall 1 Corinthians 1:8 “Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  But here’s what’s so great about the God we serve, if you’ve found yourself behaving in ways we’ve mentioned today - left your first love, been excusing sin, living lukewarm - we have a faithful God, verse 9 goes onto say “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

What’s the Challenge?

Join us this year to “Focus More in 2024.”  Begin reading 1 Corinthians and be ready to dive into scripture with an open heart ready to receive the truth of God’s Word…even if it’s sometimes hard to accept.  He’s going to be stepping on all of our toes throughout this study.

God Bless from our Hearts to Yours!
